How does the old card work?

As long as your card is valid, continue using it.

With it, you can buy the T-mobilitat in cardboard format and top it up with single pensioner tickets or with the T-Pensionista. Do not throw it away, it is rechargeable!

Always carry your pensioner’s card with you to identify yourself to FGC staff and to make your first purchase.

Those of you with a valid Pensioner’s Pass must continue using the magnetic stripe pass until you receive the new card at home.

FGC pensioners with a Card B who wish to purchase a multi-journey card within the 36 municipalities of the AMB will be able to buy the FGC T-pensionista.

You will also be able to buy and top up titles with the FGC T-mobilitat App.

How does the New Card work?

We have started sending out the new pensioner cards to those who have the Card A with a Pensioner’s Pass. You will receive the new card at home. The delivery will be progressive and there is no need to carry out any procedures.

If your card expires and you have not yet received the new one, you will need to renew it through the usual channels.

Who can apply?

To obtain the Pensioner’s Card, you must have a minimum age or a recognized disability and, at the same time, certain financial income:

  1. Be over 65 years old or have a recognized degree of disability of 33% or higher
  2. Be registered in the Lleida or Barcelona demarcation
  3. Meet the financial criteria based on the IPREM depending on the type of card A or B. These criteria are specified in the following section:

Pensioner Card A

Personal income must be lower than the public multiple-effect income indicator (IPREM) plus 10%.

Pensioner Card B

Personal income must be less than twice the public multiple-effect income indicator (IPREM) plus 10%.

People with a personal income that exceeds double the IPREM plus 10%, even if they meet the other requirements, will not be able to benefit from the Pensioner Card.

The calculation of personal income (such as pensions, benefits, rents, etc.) is obtained from the result of dividing the joint income of the family unit (spouses and children under 18 years of age) by the number of members.

How to obtain a pensioner card

1. Apply

Fill out the application form and authorize us to consult the data necessary to process your card with other administrations. You will not need to provide any documents.

With this authorization and if you direct debit the payment, you will not need to go through the renewal process; we will do it automatically every year for you.

Access the online procedure to request the Pensioner Card.

You can continue processing the application and carry out other procedures for the FGC Pensioner Card using the paper form and the postage-paid envelope, available at any station on the Barcelona-Vallès, Llobregat-Anoia lines and at Balaguer station on the Lleida-La Pobla line. You can request it from any station agent.

In person, at the Pensioner Card Office, located at Carrer de l’Avenir, nº 6, Barcelona..

2. Reception

If the eligibility criteria are met, we will send you the corresponding Pensioner Card within one month by regular mail to the postal address indicated in the application.
If the eligibility criteria are not met, you will receive a notification with the reasons for the refusal.

If you have not received your card within one month after applying, you can check the status of the procedure by calling 012 or using the inquiry form on the FGC website..

3. Payment

The amount associated with the management and processing of the Pensioner Card is:

4,50 € Price of the contactless FGC card.
Only the first time and in the event of loss or theft of the card.

6,20 € Annual fee for the management and processing of the Pensioner Pass.
Renewal of other cards without a Pensioner Pass is free.

You will receive a letter with the card and payment instructions. When you receive the letter, you will be able to make the payment in three different ways. You have two 2 months from the issuance of the letter to make the payment. If it is not done before the deadline, you will not be able to use the card.

Fill out the payment letter, which you will receive with the card, indicating your bank details and deliver it to any FGC station or send it by regular mail.

This option allows you to automate annual renewals and continue using your card without worrying about it.

Enter the procedures related to the Pensioner Card and access the online payment procedure with a bank card.

If you choose this option, you will have to request renewal and pay annually.

With the help of the station’s agent you can pay at the automatic sales point with a bank card or in cash.

Obtaining and renewing

Users of the pensioner card can now purchase pensioner tickets in cardboard T-mobilitat format at FGC ticket machines. There is no need to complete any paperwork or change the card as long as it is still valid. An additional €1 will be added to the ticket price to cover the cost of the card the first time. Do not throw it away — this card is rechargeable and can be used for future purchases. You must always carry your pensioner card with you, both for making your first purchase and to show to staff if requested.

Users of the Pensioner Card A with a valid pass will receive the new card at home. This new card integrates the Pensioner Pass, so you will no longer need to travel with two cards. In the meantime, until you receive the new card at home, you must continue travelling with your current card.

If you have not received your card within a month, you can check the status of the procedure by calling 012 or using the inquiry form on the FGC website.

You can send the requested documents by regular mail, using the postage-paid envelopes that you will find at FGC stations, or scanned, to the email address [email protected], indicating your ID, name and surname.

Entire applications for pensioner cards cannot be sent by this means as the original signed form on paper is needed.

Way of operating with the old card

Yes, the cardboard T-mobility with a pensioner profile is personal and non-transferable and must always be accompanied by the pensioner card to prove your identity to FGC staff.

No, the first time you buy contactless pensioner tickets, €1 is added to the ticket price for the cost of the cardboard T-mobility. The pensioner profile will be installed on this card and, therefore, it is essential that it is a new one.

  • If you have a valid Carnet A with a Pensioner’s Pass, you will receive the new card at home. The delivery will be progressive and you do not need to take any action; you simply have to wait to receive it.
  • People who have a card other than A with a pensioner’s Pass can request renewal before the deadline, but please note that the new conditions of validity will apply, as well as the management fees for the new T-mobility support.

FGC pensioners with a B card who wish to purchase a multi-trip card with a pensioner discount within the 36 municipalities of the AMB can only purchase the FGC T-pensioners at FGC sale points.

Operation with new Card

Contact FGC by email at [email protected] or by phone at 931 215 365 from Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to request that your pass be blocked and apply for a new one. A duplicate costs €4.50 and will maintain the same validity and conditions as the lost one.

You can go to any FGC station where the Station Agent will issue a provisional 30-day card and you will receive the new T-mobility card at home.

To purchase the T-4, you must have the AMB T-metropolitan card. More information at amb.cat.

FGC pensioners with a Card B who wish to purchase a multi-journey card with a pensioner discount within the 36 municipalities of the AMB, will be able to buy the FGC T-pensionista at FGC points of sale and through the “FGC T-mobilitat” app.
